Local Representatives have issued a statement about the state legislature’s overturning of the Governor’s veto of a bill banning transgender females from competing in girl’s sports.

A dozen other states have similar laws on the books.

Congressman Jim Banks says he’s proud of the Indiana Statehouse for setting a good example for legislatures nationwide and standing up for Hoosier girls and their parents.

Congresswoman Jackie Walorski said on social media that she’s glad to see the Indiana General Assembly act to protect the integrity of girls’ sports, adding “We must continue to protect these athletic opportunities for girls and women.”
