In Warsaw a group of protesters gathered Sunday to demand the end to New Life Christian Church. Last week the former pastor, John Lowe, confessed to a relationship with a woman 20 years ago. That woman says she was 16 at the time.

The protesters don’t want just his firing. They want the church locked and boarded up, saying other people have had problems with sexual abuse in the congregation.

“Anytime they open up and are ready to do something, we need the public to come out here,” said one protester who was leading the group.

“We will not stand with anybody who stands with pedophiles out here in Kosciusko County,” she said. Lowe has not been accused of pedophilia. The age of consent in 16 in Indiana.

But, at least one person in the group of protesters told WNDU-TV she was abused by a church usher when she was a little girl.

“There’s victims coming out by the hour, but the day,” said the protest leader.

Lowe confessed in front of the congregation, saying he needed to atone for the relationship, saying he offered no excuse for committing adultery.

Go protest yourselves. It is up to the church to handle this affair. If they lose enough members then it will close naturally. Knowing that the “pastor’s” family held many high church positions I would never attend there. Too much authority in family hands for me.

The American Pastime has left baseball and gone to protesting places and issues most have nothing to do with.

Agreed, if they are so intent on protesting pedophilia then they surely are showing up at school board meetings and making their case.

No? Then this is just feel good BS from the protest brigade.
