Hoosiers using SNAP may face new challenges

Inflation has been a topic of concern for Hoosiers for many reasons. Now, Hoosiers using the SNAP, or former food stamp, program may face additional challenges.

WISH TV reports that SNAP benefits and eligibility will return to following pre-pandemic rules. A representative of the Midwest Food Bank’s Indiana Branch said the demand for product at food banks has increased drastically, and the reduction in benefits will only exacerbate the problem. She said inflation has made it difficult for people to make it through the month, even if they have consistent paychecks or retirement. Summer can be especially hard for young children who are used to getting two meals at school.

If you would like to help address Hoosier hunger, food banks are in need of donations. If you or someone you know needs help finding food, the Midwest Food Bank representative recommends visiting food pantries or soup kitchens, or calling 211 to get help.

The same people who vote for freebies are getting pinched based on the destructive policies of the people who are giving them the freebies.

The people paying the bills have been feeling the pinch for a long time, so it’s only fair.

On getting the relief tax Chechen, what if you don’t file or trying to file for disability and can’t file. How do we get a check?

Give me a break. I work 40 plus hours a week and make good money and still can barely afford the grocery bill. But hey, lets just worry about the people that get food stamps for doing nothing. Because they are the only ones feeling it at the grocery store. How about only give stamps to people who work there butts off and then see how that turns out. I bet that will get everyone back to work. Got to love those Democrats. Worried about the “right” people.
