Woman arrested for allegedly breaking into Eddy Street Food Mart

A 20-year-old woman was arrested after investigators say she broke into the Eddy Street Food Mart, near LaSalle, in South Bend.

South Bend Police officers were called to the 300 block of Eddy Street on Monday, May 30, to find a broken window and the business owner, who was able to provide surveillance video that showed a suspect breaking into the store and stealing several items.

Through their investigation and the processing of evidence, officers were able to identify a suspect.

Desiree Peppers was arrested and has been formally charged with Burglary. Officers were also able to recover the stolen items.
