Osceola man injured in motorcycle-related crash

An Osceola man on a motorcycle was taken to the hospital after hitting a vehicle he was trying to pass.

The collision happened around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, at the intersection of Redfield Street and Gumwood Road in Milton Township.

Sheriff’s deputies say the 36-year-old man was traveling eastbound on Redfield Street when he tried to pass the vehicle that was turning southbound on Gumwood Road.

The Osceola man struck the vehicle, driven by a 48-year-old Portage Indiana man.

The motorcyclist was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment.

A helmet was not worn at the time of the crash, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
