Railroad crossing work closing SR 23 in Granger, U.S. 6 in Elkhart County

A heads-up for drivers who use U.S. 6 in Elkhart County: INDOT says the highway will close for a couple of days, this week, due to railroad work.

The closure was expected to start on or around June 5 and should just take a day or so once it begins.

Drivers will be detoured to State Road 15 and U.S. 33 to get around it.

On Monday, June 6, State Road 23 is closing at the railroad tracks in Granger.

The work at the tracks is expected to take two weeks to complete.

Drivers will be detoured to Bittersweet Road, Cleveland and Capital Avenue to dodge the closure.
