Man arrested for kicking and hitting Mishawaka officer

A man was arrested after he allegedly kicked and hit an officer in Mishawaka.

Police arrived to the 4500 block of North Hickory Road on a call of domestic violence.

Officials say that the officers opened the door, after hearing a woman crying, then were threatened by the man inside.

When the officers tried to detain the man, Jaden Herring, he resisted and tried to hide in his apartment.

A short time later, Herring left the apartment with the officers.

ABC 57 News reports that when Herring was going into the police car, he began to physically assault the officers.

Herring is charged with battery against a public safety official.

His hearing is set for Friday, June 10th.
