A Berrien County Judge has added four more sex crime charges to a man accused of sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl with Down Syndrome.

At the court hearing, the victims’s mother, who had been engaged to the suspect, 51-year-old Brian VanHorn, testified.

WNDU reports that in March, the victim’s mother found VanHorn in bed with her daughter.

VanHorn faces a slew of charges, including, criminal sexual conduct and accosting a minor for immoral purposes.

He could face life in prison, if convicted.
