A Rochester man was placed under arrested after a crash that occurred when police say he started chasing a man from Plymouth who he said stole gasoline from him.
The crash happened just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, in the area of State Road 16 and County Road 600-East in Cass County, Indiana.
The sheriff says Jon Allen Sailors III, 24, of Plymouth was southbound in his pickup when he collided with Bryan Slisher, 58, of Rochester.
The investigation shows Slisher suspected Sailors of stealing fuel from his farm. When Slisher confronted him, Sailors took off in his pickup.
Slisher gave chase and the two trucks collided. Sailors was airlifted with serious injuries to a hospital in Fort Wayne.
Slisher was taken to the Cass County Jail on a preliminary charge of criminal recklessness.
