Man accused of crashing into boulder while drunk, with a child in the vehicle

Terrence M. Collins (ABC 57)

A man has been accused of drunkenly crashing into a boulder with a child in his vehicle.

Terrence Collins was arrested for OWI, carrying a handgun without a license, and leaving the scene of an accident. A witness told St. Joseph County Sheriff’s officers that a man identified as Collins was driving a blue SUV when he struck a boulder in the witness’ yard before fleeing the scene. Another witness led officers to the vehicle, which had damage consistent with the crash.

Blood test results are pending but Collins allegedly told officers he’d been drinking, and was combative.
