Boy, 8, killed after being struck by car on County Road 7 in Elkhart

An 8-year-old boy died after being struck by a car in Elkhart County.

The collision happened around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, on County Road 7 south of County Road 26 when sheriff’s investigators say the boy was walking across the roadway.

A 41-year-old Goshen man who was driving the car struck the child, who was pronounced dead at Elkhart General Hospital.

Factors into the incident remain under investigation by the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
