Three people are okay after being thrown off a jet ski when it exploded on a lake in Steuben County.

Conservation officers with the Indiana D.N.R. say the people who own the jet skit had just gotten it in the water with three people aboard.

When they started the engine, a small explosion happened sending the trio into the water. All three were able to get to shore and refused medical treatment when EMTs arrived.

The D.N.R. reminds you to properly check any inboard engine boat or watercraft before taking it out and that you ventilate the engine before starting it up.
