Trial set for woman accused of fatal house fire

A woman accused of starting a fatal house fire will face trial next month.

It happened on May23, 2021, at 1824 Oakland Avenue in Goshen.

That’s when a house fire took the lives of 51-year-old Dennis Witte and 8-year-old Nyshaun Finch.

The Elkhart Truth reports that 48-year-old Gennessa Jones, made threats about starting a fire during a fight.

Jones was arrested and charged with murder in October.

She will face trial on August 1.
