South Bend is accepting applications for their Lamppost Lighting program..

The program helps homeowners with lighting in their neighborhood, with self-installed solar-powered lampposts for front yards.

It’s available for homeowners within the city limits.

This year, they’ve chosen two target areas, based on income.

In the target areas, residents will pay a lower share of costs, at $50.

Those outside of the target area will see a price of $250.

The last day to apply for the program is August 15.

More information about the program and target areas can be found at southbendin.gov/lamppost.
