Elkhart woman, 22, killed after being struck by vehicle on County Road 20

An Elkhart woman died after she was struck by a pick-up truck.

The collision happened around 12 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, on County Road 20 east of Roys Avenue.

22-year-old Marlyse Kemp was walking westbound on 20 and suffered a broken back and a broken arm after being hit by the truck which was driven by a 32-year-old Mishawaka man, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.

Kemp was taken to Elkhart General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Factors into the collision are still under investigation.
