Nearly 60 of your fellow Hoosiers are still needed in Kentucky. With people still missing from the floods, and more rain expected, Indiana’s Task Force 1 is staying for now to continue to help with the rescue efforts.
During a press conference in eastern Kentucky Monday afternoon, it was announced that two people are still missing, though most everyone who was missing has been found. Pres. Biden and the First Lady were in Kentucky to see the flooding for themselves, and have issued a disaster declaration so the state can get federal help.
Meanwhile, as Indiana’s team waits for the anticipated weather, they are brushing up on their skills, said a news release from Task Force 1.
These include, high and low angle rope rescue, top water rescue and wide area search
While someone involved in the rescue effort may have been lost, that person was not from Indiana, and all Task Force 1 team members are healthy and safe.
