An Elkhart County park received a grant for development.

The Elkhart County Council voted to make a $250,000 grant for the Corson Riverwoods Park, located along the Little Elkhart River, between County Roads 10 and 12.

Plans include a parking area, trails, picnic tables, benches, an entranceway, and lights.

The Elkhart Truth reports that a “pollinator play path” will be added, to teach kids about pollinating insects.

It costs $25,000.

Elkhart County is expected to have 4,000 acres of locally owned recreation space, due to it’s size, but now they’re at 2,700.

Trails are set to be in by December, the parking lot by Spring, and the play path in the summertime or fall.
