The LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers that students on those bright yellow busses need your full undivided attention.

This, after a South Central School Bus was almost hit on US Highway 30 on Friday morning, August 26.

School officials say that one of their buses was almost hit by a semi-truck moving steal near Smoker Farm.

They say the semi left the road to the right of the bus, hit an electrical pole, and then drove back on to the highway, continuing west.

Officials say that the students on the bus were shaken up by the incident.

They remind drivers to be aware and cautious when driving near school buses.
