The Mayor of South Bend has issued an executive order.

Mayor James Mueller is calling for the city to be a “Broadband Ready Community.”

He says that the order will help the city’s residents, businesses, and community organizations.

The order says that the mayor and his team will make a new “Connectivity Coalition” and a “Digital Equity Plan.”

Officials say that the executive order will also prepare the city for federal grants to expand internet options in South Bend.
