It will take longer than originally planned for the approval process for the proposed Ultium cells electric vehicle battery plant in New Carlisle.
At issue is a $2.4 billion 2-million square foot facility that will sit on more than 600 acres. The delay is due to changes being made to the original proposal.
A vote among St. Joseph County Council members was suppose to take place on Wednesday, but the public hearing, as well as the vote, are now set for September 27th.

This is for a project that the government is forced to want, politically.
Imagine how sluggish the process is for a project the government does not want! Realize that the hyper-regulatory state we have constructed is nothing more than cronyism, and is not good for anyone but the people buying the influence and the people selling the influence…
