The Niles Outdoor Hub is set for some modifications.

The Niles City Council has voted to use part of the right-of-way on Second Street between Main Street and the north alley to improve outdoor space in downtown Niles.

The move will allow the outdoor public space while also maintaining two lanes of traffic.

The Downtown Development leaders will work with the Niles Main Street Design Committee to form a Project Design team.

Leader Publications reports that $30,000 has been put aside for the project and that funds from the Revitalization and Placemaking grant will be used.
