Elkhart man arrested for burglary, theft

An Elkhart man was arrested in Bourbon on Sunday, Sept. 18 on charges of burglary and several others.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office reports that at 6:31 p.m. deputies were notified of a report of a break-in at a residence in the 5000 block of 11th Road.

The owner of the property found the male suspect on his property and attempted to keep him there until deputies arrived.

Deputies took Justin Garner of Elkhart into custody. ABC 57 News reports that Garner was found with stolen property of the victim and was also found driving a stolen vehicle.

Reports say Garner also had active warrants for his arrest in Elkhart County.

Garner was charged with burglary, theft, battery, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and a hold for Elkhart County.

He is currently being held at the Marshall County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond.
