Teachers across Indiana Michigan Power’s 30 county service area in Indiana and Michigan can now apply for grants for the 2023-2024 school year. American Electric Power’s, I&M’s parent company, Teacher Vision Grant Program supports innovative projects and teachers while enhancing the student academic experience.
Nearly $8,000 from the previous round of AEP Teacher Vision Grants went to 21 teachers, representing 12 different schools, across Indiana and southwest Michigan.
Funds help teachers buy robots, circuity boards for elementary school students, construction tools for students to build bat boxes, and to sponsor Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) camp scholarships.
Projects with any academic focus and a goal to improve student achievement will be considered, although AEP and I&M have a special interest in science, mathematics, technology, the study of energy and a sustainable environment and energy efficiency. Highly regarded projects will incorporate matching funds, community resources, and interdisciplinary or team-teaching projects.

Teachers of grades pre-K through 12, who live and or teach within I&M’s service area or in communities with major I&M facilities, can apply today – midnight EST on Dec. 16, for the 2023-2024 series of grants.
