NIPSCO reminds you to watch out for scams

(Photo supplied/NIPSCO)

NIPSCO is reminding customers to be on the lookout for scams.

Tuesday, the utility took to social media to remind their consumers that NIPSCO will never call you directly to ask for account or payment information, or demand payment through an untraceable method like a prepaid debit card.

NIPSCO says if you think a call is attempting to scam you, don’t respond. Just hang up, and then call NIPSCO directly at 1-800-4-NIPSCO. If you received a scam text…delete it. Never be afraid to ask for ID from someone claiming to demand a payment. soq
