The lame duck session of Michigan’s Legislature is looking especially lame this time around.
Control of the chamber changes hands in January, and Bridge Michigan reports that little activity is expected in Lansing before then as the Republicans prepare to concede the majority to the Democrats.
There are signs on the session schedules that the state’s House and Senate could be done for the year as early as December 7.
Both the Republican leadership and Governor Whitmer have said that they are not closing the door on any possible last-minute legislation negotiations by the end of the year.
