Thanks to the uptick in respiratory illnesses, and the alarming new spread of COVID strains nationwide, a leading infectious disease expert recommends masking up again.
Data collected by the COVID States Project suggests only 26% of Americans reported wearing masks outside of their homes in October. That’s a drop of as many as 50% from 2020 and 2021.
The CDC reports that COVID still accounts for 386 deaths per day in the U.S.
Dr. Diego Hijano at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, says wearing a mask protects people from COVID and the other respiratory viruses that have seen an increase this season, and vaccination is also an important step to be healthy through the season.

If you see a Doctor who still thinks masks and COVID vaccines work, you’re seeing a propagandist and not a doctor.
