Illinois man killed in crash in LaPorte County

An Illinois man was killed in a crash in LaPorte County.

The collision happened around 3:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8.

LaPorte County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the area of County Road 500 East, south of County Road 650 North.

Their investigation states a 2005 Saab was traveling northbound on County Road 500 East, traveled off the east side of the roadway and continued traveling northbound. The vehicle re-entered the roadway and began to roll over, eventually stopping and landing on its roof.

Two men were inside the vehicle. identified as Justin P. Cervi, 22, of Riverside, Illinois, and Dillon Cervi, 30, of Justice, Illinois was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.

the Sheriff’s Office Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was activated and is investigating the circumstances of the crash. Toxicology test results are pending.
