50,000-year comet visiting our part of the solar system this month

It hasn’t visited in 50 thousand years, but you’ll get a chance to see it this month.

It might be a little fuzzy, and you have to get up for the early morning sky, but a recently-discovered green-colored comet is passing by.

Named C-2022 E3 ZTF, the comet was discovered in March 2022 and will be closest to the sun on Thursday. At its brightest it will be visible to the naked eye.

The northern hemisphere will have a view this month, the southern hemisphere next month. It will be closest to the Earth at the beginning of February.
