Around 4,000 people took place in the annual First Day Hikes event on Jan. 1 on DNR property in Indiana.
Combined, hikers trekked more than 7,000 miles through traditional guided hikes, horseback rides, U-T-V rides, 5K trail runs, and luminary walks.
A few hikers came from as far as Wales.
If you’re interested in taking a hike, and you don’t know where to go, check out the Indiana State Parks website at www.stateparks.IN.gov.
