A man from Beech Grove is charged with felony child neglect after neighbors at an apartment complex saw a young child waving a gun and reported it to police.

Shane Osborne was arrested Saturday morning. Police were called to the apartment Friday night and when they knocked on Osborne’s door, he answered in his underwear.

After a quick search of his apartment, they didn’t find one.

As police were leaving, a neighbor showed them camera footage of the child walking around with the pistol.

Officers went back and, asked the child where the gun was, and he lead them to a desk drawer.

Osborne was arrested.
