Banana Boat is recalling more of their sunscreen products because of a cancer causing chemical.

The recall involves hair and scalp sunscreen sprays. Last year, a review found that unexpected levels of benzene were found in the sprays, even though it is not an ingredient that Banana Boat uses.

The FDA says that being exposed to high levels of benzene can cause cancer including leukemia and blood cancer of the blood marrow. It can also cause life-threatening blood disorders.

Anybody with the recalled product is asked to stop using it and throw it out. They can also visit www.bananaboat.com for more information and to learn how to receive reimbursement. Refunds can be given by contacting Edgewell Personal Care.

Anybody who suffered reactions or problems because of the product can report it to the FDA’s MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting program. That can be found online at www.fda.gov/medwatch/report.htm.
