UPDATE: Rees leaving Notre Dame for Alabama Offensive Coordinator job

UPDATE: Irish Illustrated reports sources saying that Tommy Rees will leave Notre Dame for the Offensive Coordinator position with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

ORIGINAL STORY: Notre Dame offensive coordinator Tommy Rees has emerged as the top pick for the Offensive Coordinator spot for Alabama.

Rees has had discussions with Nick Saban and was expected to be on campus on Thursday, Feb. 2, according to ESPN.

Saban is looking to replace Bill O’Brien, who left for the New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator job.

Rees has been on staff with Notre Dame since 2017.
