Two men have been arrested after police say they stole copper wire from a warehouse in Granger.

St. Joseph County Sheriff’s officers were called on Saturday, Feb. 4, to the warehouse on Anderson Road on a burglary call.

Footprints in the snow led police to a partially opened door and inside — one of the suspects, Michael Johnson, allegedly carrying wire to a Ford work van.

The second suspect, Steven Livingston, tried to run away, but didn’t get far.

Johnson told police they were doing clean-up work for a friend who said they could take what they wanted. Johnson was arrested on burglary-related charges and posted bond.

Both are due in court next month.
