Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Berrien, Cass, St. Joseph Counties in Michigan

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Michigan counties in the 95.3 MNC listening area.

By Thursday night, precipitation turns from rain to a rain/snow mix and then mainly snow in some of our northern communities into early Friday. If anything accumulates, it is a slushy snow.

Totals should stay low across most of Michiana, although 1″ maybe 2″ by Friday is possible in areas closest to Lake Michigan.

Friday is cooler to end the week. We’ll begin to warm this weekend with dry, sunny weather Saturday and Sunday.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EST FRIDAY

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Ice accumulations of up to
  a glaze combined with total snow accumulations of up to one
  inch.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Lower Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 7 AM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact Friday`s morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Behind this area of precipitation tonight,
  an area of lake effect snow is expected to take over mainly for
  areas west of IN-31 into the daytime Friday. Up to an additional
  1 to 2 inches of snow can be expected.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Friday: Snow flurries. High 28.
