It isn’t a sport that gets much attention in this country, but The University of Notre Dame currently dominates it.
Over the weekend, the Notre Dame fencing team went to Boston College for the ACC Championships to compete against the host school, Duke and North Carolina. Both the men’s and women’s teams won first in every category for individual competitions. The top-ranked Irish dominated every school they faced and won a number of medals in every class and level.
The teams move on to the NCAA Midwest Regional Competition on March 11, in Evanston, Illinois.
The Irish are warming up for the elusive three-peat. Taking three national championships in as many years is the sweet prize for this team oriented Irish squad.
