Charges has been filed against a former Lakeshore Public Schools teacher accused of sexually assaulting a student.

Perry Heppler, 66, who taught second grade, has been arrested on one count of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and three counts of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree.

Lakeshore administrators contacted Lincoln Township Police when the student came to them with the allegations.

Heppler, who’d been with the district for more than 25 years resigned prior to the underaged victim coming forward. He’s due in court on Wednesday, March 8.
