A stretch of Byrkit Avenue in Mishawaka closing for construction

The City of Mishawaka has announced that South Byrkit Avenue will be closed to all traffic between East Sixth Street and East Fifth Street beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 17, for utility and right of way improvements.

Access for residents and businesses within the closure area will be maintained during this process.

Detour signs will be in place to direct all traffic to Capital Avenue using East Twelfth Street and Lincolnway East.

Weather permitting, this closure is expected to remain in place until Monday, May 29.

Barricades and signage will be in place during this closure. Motorists are requested to use caution to ensure the safety of the crews working in this area.
