Multiple illegally possessed guns confiscated from South Bend home

A call for service, Sunday, led to a search warrant being served at a home in the 2500 block of Bertrand Street and more guns being taken off the street.
Officers arrested a suspect with an active felony warrant and recovered multiple illegally possessed firearms, including a stolen handgun and a sawed-off shotgun with an obliterated serial number.
Officers also found several dogs inside the home which they say was in poor condition.
As a result, the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office has charged 28-year-old Deyjon Townsend with possession of an altered firearm, intimidation, auto theft and cruelty to an animal.
Townsend is being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.

Continuing kudos to JZ for calling them “illegally possessed guns” instead of just “illegal guns”. Thank you for your integrity.
