Pedestrian struck on bypass near U.S. 31 interchange

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating after a pedestrian was hit on the bypass near the U.S. 31 interchange.

The collision happened around 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, when a 64-year-old Buchanan man who was behind the wheel of a vehicle stuck the pedestrian.

The driver has been cooperating with investigators, according to FACT.

The identity of the person who was struck is being withheld until their family is notified.
