South Bend International Airport to conduct annual live fire training

The St. Joseph County Airport Authority Department of Public Safety will be conducting annual fire training. 

The training is required by the Federal Aviation Administration with live burns on Monday, May 8, from approximately 8 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the live fire training facility on the northwest corner of the airfield at South Bend International Airport.

The fire safety training is mandated by the FAA under FAR Part 139 for any entity specializing in aircraft rescue and fire fighting.
