A home-care nurse in Berrien County has been convicted for the death of a child that was left in her care last year.
42 year-old Judith Sobol was found guilty of second degree murder in February.
Monday, she was given a sentence of 30 to 70 years in prison. WSJM reports that 3 year-old Ophelia Mazure, who required around-the-clock care, was left in her care on June 20th of last year in Coloma Township.
She was found not breathing with her breathing tube removed, and Sobol was unconscious in the same room.
She later admitted to using meth that week before going to work. She had faced up to life in prison.
