Former Arizona Diamondbacks coach Wilson Valera was named the new manager of a local Indiana team.

The Elkhart County Miracles are a team of college players in the Independent Northern League who are hoping to make it to the Major Leagues.

They play at the Northwood Field of Dreams in Nappanee.

Chicago Cubs second baseman will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch during the Miracle’s season opener on June 3.
