(Jon Zimney/95.3 MNC)

One man is dead. Another man is injured and a 17-year-old boy is in custody in connection to the violence.

Michigan City Police were called, early Monday night, to the area of Eighth and Cedar Streets after gunfire erupted — stemming from an argument involving two 22-year-old Michigan City men and the teenager.

Investigators say shots were exchanged between the three.

One of the men who was shot took off in a car, then crashed. He was taken to the hospital where he died. The other man was also hospitalized for treatment.

The 17-year-old was taken to the Juvenile Services Center in LaPorte.
