Body recovered in St. Joseph River

Police have recovered the body of an adult that matches the description of a mom who went missing in the St. Joseph River.
It was during the early evening of Sunday, May 7, when a 42-year-old woman went missing near Dairy Road in Oronoko Township.
Investigators believe she had gone into the river when she noticed her 8-year-old son was struggling. The boy was found on an island in the river.
The boy has been released from the hospital.
Authorities in Kalamazoo are working to identify the body.
