The ranks of the South Bend Police Department are getting stronger.
This week, the department had the honor of promoting six officers. The occasion also marked the first time since 2017 that they’ve promoted that many officers at one time.
Maranda Baker was promoted from Sergeant to Patrol Division Lieutenant of 2nd Detail.
Baker was also selected as Officer of the Year in 2021 and is the first female to serve as a Lieutenant in the Patrol Division.
