An arrestee going through intake at the LaPorte County Jail was caught hiding a pair of scissors in a peculiar location.

While completing the process of the intake, the arrestee refused to participate in a Body Scan, which is required for all arrestees to complete.

After the arrestee reluctantly submitted to the scan, a police lieutenant observed what appeared to be a foreign object inside the man’s body cavity.

The arrestee was escorted from the scanner room to a nearby area for an additional search. Once again, the arrestee refused to cooperate with deputies.

When the second body scan did begin, the deputy realized the foreign object was apair of scisors and they were removed from the arrestee without incident.

The jail’s “SecurPASS” Body Scanner, which was purchased in 2017, has led to the recovery of a whole litany of items – such as tattooing equipment, drugs, paraphernalia, miscellaneous foreign objects, and now, scissors.
