Fire crews called to battle house fire on South Taylor Street in South Bend

No injuries were reported as fire crews in South Bend battled back flames at a house that caught fire.

Crews were called around 2:45 a.m. on Monday, May 22, to the 2000 block of South Taylor Street.

On arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and flames showing from the back and side of a single-story home.

The fire was under control in less than 30 minutes.

The origin and cause of the fire remain under investigation.
