The boil order for the town of Wakarusa has been lifted, however, residents are still being asked to conserve water.
The following statement was posted to the town’s Facebook page on Saturday, May 27:
The boil order has been lifted for the Town of Wakarusa, Indiana. Unfortunately though a local business sustained a fire this morning and has lowered our water in the system. Therefore, we continue to ask that NO sprinkling of gardens or yards take place and the splash pad will remain close until further notice. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We appreciate your support!
The fire happened around 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, at an automotive business in the 66400 block of S.R.19.
Crews from five different departments were at the scene for more than two hours fighting the fire.
