The Indiana Department of Environmental Management says the air quality in parts of Northwest Indiana and North Central Indiana is somewhat unhealthy today.

Towns and cities such as Gary, Valparaiso, Fair Oaks, LaPorte , South Bend and Elkhart are all currently facing air quality that is “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups.”

So, if you live in the area and have conditions such as asthma or COPD, it might be best to stay inside, conserve gasoline and energy, and avoid spraying/inhaling chemicals until the air quality improves.
