Car crashes into house on Old M-62 in Silver Creek Township

Alcohol could be a factor in a crash in which a Mishawaka man smashed into the side of a house, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision happened around 1 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, on Old M-62 near Hunt Drive in Silver Creek Township.

The initial investigation showed that a vehicle driven by a 29-year-old Mishawaka man was headed westbound. The vehicle left the roadway, traveled through a yard and crashed into the home. The driver had minor injuries, was evaluated by emergency medical personal on scene and refused further treatment. Nobody inside the home was injured.

The driver was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
